bout 90% of MWPT poles are purchased from the government forested areas. The areas are situated in the Mufindi district in the Southern highlands of Tanzania. The compartments for harvesting are inspected by MWPT for the quality of the raw product before any cutting commences. The trees are felled cleaned of bark and stacked by our own personnel and machinery. These are then left for ‘air drying’ or transported to our yard for kiln drying.
